KRISPY KREME PHOTO REMOVED!

When I announced my candidacy for Oklahoma Republican National Committeeman, several other blogs used the image on Fair & Biased in the announcement showing me in a Krispy Kreme cap in front of the nation's capital. While I don't take myself seriously, I want people to take my candidacy seriously and understand that while I HAVE FUN IN POLITICS- my primary motivation for being involved is to improve our government- to get principled people elected to office- to help build a grassroots organization within the Republican party.

That's way I changed the photo. I can assure you I ain't "putting on airs" (Aunt Eller from Oklahoma), but attempting to present myself in a more appropriate way for the office in which I am seeking. I love the Krispy Kreme photograph. It was taken for a "marketing calendar" we distribute each year in the food industry. That photograph has graced the walls of dozens of corporate food executives- at least for a month- and served to "lighten" things up in business. Adam Smith, our Stephens County District Committeeman and a computer genius, photo shopped in the Capital which added a little extra zip.

22 Ways To Be A Good Democrat

THIS IS NOT SO HARD-- EVEN A CAVE MAN CAN DO IT....

1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.
2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.
3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. Nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.
4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.
5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical documented changes in the earth's climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUV's.
6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.
7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.
8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach fourth graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.
9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.
10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.
11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own money to make "The Passion of the Christ" for financial gain only.
12. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.
13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.
14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Edison, and A.G. Bell.
15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.
16. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and is a very nice person.
17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.
18. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.
19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.
20. You have to believe that illegal Democrat Party funding by the Chinese Government is somehow in the best interest to the United States .
21. You have to believe that this message is a part of a vast, right wing conspiracy.
22. You have to believe that it's okay to give Federal workers the day off on Christmas Day ..........but it's not okay to say "Merry Christmas."

John McCain- 45

Overall good performance- immigration is his "soft spot" and he sparred with Romney on that issue.

Fred Thomspon-47

Folksy, funny, and quick on his feet. Performed like he did on a good episode of Law & Order

Ron Paul-27

Never deals with the question asked- always answers with his message- get out of Iraq and quit printing money.

Mitt Romney-35

Weak performance- showed his anger- was attacked by McCain and Huckabee- got more time than any of the other candidates, but was ineffective. Showed his anger during an exchange with McCain.

Mike Huckabee-54

Good performance, especially on contrast between he and Obama- none of the others were as effective on that answer. A little tentative, but overall stayed above the fray.

Rudy Guiliani-52

Typical Rudy- stayed on message- is not reactive- should avoid the tendency to "recap" the debate issue.

DEMOCRATS
John Edwards- 49

His southern tang will hurt him in New England, but overall performance was solid- his getting the lobbyists out of politics is great- too bad he doesn't feel the same way about trial lawyers. Stood up for Obama.

Barrack Obama- 48

Smooth, even under attack. Speaks in generalities, only negative moment was when he said Hillary was "likable enough."

Bill Richardson- 42

Avoided direct answers to the questions- repeated his accomplishments as governor four times. Appeared very tired.

Hillary Clinton- 52

Showed passion, but also appeared tired. She was the target of Obama and Edward but also attacked Obama when he said she was not for "change." Her comment that she had been a part of change for 30 plus years was quick on her feet.

IT'S HUCKABEE & OBAMA IN IOWA!

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has won the Iowa caucuses on the GOP side with 34% of the vote. Former Massachussetts Governor Mitt Romney captured 25% with Fred Thompson and John McCain at 14% each. Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani did not campaign in Iowa so he could focus on New Hampshire.

On the Democratic side, Senator Barrack Obama won with 37% of the vote, John Edward had 30% and Senator Hillary Clinton wound up a disappointing third with 29%. Bill Richardson at 2%. Senator Chris Dodd's poor showing forced him to drop out of the race. The Democrats had a record turnout and word is the "D"s were more fired up than the "R"s.

In a Focus group on Fox, Huckabee won because HE SEEMED LIKE A REAL GUY AND CONNECTS WITH PEOPLE! Obama won the youth vote and WOMEN. Hillary spun her third place finish by saying, "we are going to reclaim this country for our children." "I am so ready for the rest of this campaign and I AM SO READY TO LEAD!"

Huckabee's victory speech was delivered with ease, class and a gracious spirit. Speaking with the skill of a trained orator, Huckabee showed why he won. In typical Baptist preacher style, he had three points and a poem. Huckabee outlined three reasons why he won. (1) PEOPLE ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE PURSE. Outspent by Romney 15 to 1, Huckabee did a great job of connecting with people. The Governor said, "We raised the most hopes and dreams of people and not who raised the most money." (2) AMERICANS WANT A CHANGE. The average American is displeased with Congress and the current leadership of government. (3) THIS ELECTION IS NOT ABOUT ME, BUT ABOUT WE. Huckabee said, "Elected officials should have a servant's spirit. And the "poem" was a quote from G.K. Chesterson who said, "A solider does not fight because he hates those in front of him, but because he loves those behind him.

Huckabee said "This is a new day in American politics." "It starts in Iowa and ends one year from now at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

At 10:10pm, Barrack Obama began his victory speech with the cadence of the late Dr. Martin Luther King. Speaking in sound bites and invoking civil rights illustrations , Obama worked his supporters into a zealous high. Frequently interrupted with applause, Barrack said, "we are one nation, one people and now change has come." "We must move past the bitterness, and pettiness and build coalitions for change that runs through red states and blue states." Obviously looking toward New Hampshire, Obama mentioned the state three times in his Iowa speech. "I will make health care affordable- ends tax breaks for companies that manufacture overseas- harness the knowledge of scientist and farmers to develop alternative fuels- - end the Iraq war and bring home the troops. Obama said, "you didn't do this for me, but you believed that people who love this country can change it. " Obama was the first African American to win a caucus election in America,
